Clattering about in the kitchen drawer to get spoons out. Getting a bowl out. Shaking a carton of soup up, ripping the top off and pouring it into a bowl. Tapping the carton to get the rest out and then throwing it into the pedal bin. Opening the microwave door, putting the bowl of soup in, tapping out the numbers and then turning the microwave on. Spring. Wav and spring2. Wav were recorded on the same evening in may during a long rain. The two recordings are similar but still very different. I've never heard so many frogs/peepers so deafeningly loud, persistent and oblivious to humans. I tried to record where the water was running but the animals drowned out the sound of the water. Beautiful sounds.

Recorded using a directional shotgun microphone into a zoom h4 recorder. Wind sock and hpf have been used to reduce rumble. This particular recording was of the first fountain which has a fairly deep sound. Recorded close for a focused sound.

We were doing a shoot for a chinese television station and i let my canon 7d pic up some sounds, edited some of the pops out and there you have it. This is a cricket that was chirping outside of my apartment. There a few loud chirps at the beginning, followed by several softer chirps. I was able to get my recorder pretty close the cricket, so the sounds came out pretty good. I recorded this with a tascam dr-07 portable recorder.
